1st European Open Pipe
2009 and 2007
"Function and style... for your eyes!"
I have been skiing since I can remember. I was born and raised on the east coast and skied all over New England. I spent two years of high school at Carrabassett Valley Academy, in Maine, and that is where my competitive skiing career began. My professional skiing career began with a win at the East Coast Open in 2004. I then moved to Colorado where I was a student at Colorado College and spent the winters skiing in Breckenridge and the surrounding Summit County resorts. I am living in Salt Lake City and focusing more on taking my skiing into natural and bigger terrain. I have spent this season away from halfpipe competitions and pushing myself to become a more versatile skier... and not just a park rat.
I am really excited about The FullCircle Project... which is basically an opportunity for some of my skiing friends and I to give back to the amazing places we have had the privilege to visit during our ski careers. Last summer I put together a community service and skiing trip to Chile. The FullCircle Crew built a kindergarten and playground in an emergency housing area for people displaced by the massive earthquake and tsunami of February 2010. After we completed the service work we skied and shot video and photos in the nearby mountains. A second trip is planned for July 2011. We are working on a sustainable agriculture project in a community in the mountainous highlands of Peru. I am working hard to get it organized and am pumped!
