How to Choose Your Ski Helmet? 

Technically speaking, there is no difference between a ski helmet and a snowboard helmet. The choice of a helmet model depends on your activity: opt for a visor helmet if you prefer more comfort, or a helmet specially designed for competitions if that's your area of preference. For perfect protection combined with optimal comfort, Bollé has developed three main types of helmet constructions: 

- ABS, with deformable hard foam designed to absorb and diffuse impact in case of a fall. 

- In-Mold ski helmet, composed of a single piece, known for its lightweight and excellent ventilation. 

- Bollé hybrid helmet, combining the best of the two previous versions, offering excellent resistance and helmet lightness.

How to Choose the Size of Your Ski Helmet? 

Selecting the right helmet size is crucial for a perfect fit and maximum comfort. A men's ski helmet is generally wider than a women's ski helmet. Consider criteria such as the circumference of your head, measured at home or in-store, and the position of the helmet on your forehead. At Bollé, emphasis is placed on "Seamless fit," ensuring a perfect integration between the helmet and goggles for a friction-free skiing experience and optimal protection against wind and cold. If your helmet is the right size, the tightening system should maintain an adjustment margin. To feel supported and comfortable, it should not be tightened to the maximum or too loose. 

When to Replace Your Ski Helmet? 

On the slopes, safety comes first. Even if not visibly damaged, it is recommended to replace your ski helmet every 5 years due to wear and technological advancements. In the event of an impact or fall, however, helmet replacement is imperative, even if damages are not visible to the naked eye. This rule particularly applies to children's helmets. Children's growth can affect the fit and safety of the helmet.
