Bollé sunglasses for sports performance

When sporting excellence is your priority, every detail matters, starting with the quality of your eyewear. As a specialist in high-performance sunglasses, Bollé offers various ranges of sports sunglasses designed specifically for performance and to meet the demands of the most discerning athletes.

Which sunglasses to choose for sport?

When engaging in sports activities such as cycling, mountain sports, water sports, trail running, or regular running, the choice of suitable eyewear is crucial. Our movements are primarily guided by our vision, making good eyesight essential. To choose the right sports sunglasses, the two essential elements are the frame and the lenses.

Which lens treatment to choose?

For high-level sports performance as well as leisure activities, Bollé provides different lens treatments, each tailored to specific uses. Depending on your discipline, a well-chosen lens treatment can make a significant difference in helping you achieve your best performance.

For high-altitude activities, where conditions can be extreme, it is highly recommended to opt for Category 4 lenses that will adequately protect the eyes. Specifically, Bollé's high-performance mineral lenses with side shields offer absolute protection and excellent optical clarity in very bright conditions.

Regardless of weather conditions, Bollé's photochromic Phantom lens technology allows for a wide spectrum of visible light transmission. In addition to versatility on snow, their Phantom+ version also features high-performance polarization. For water-related activities, especially, prioritizing polarization is essential to minimize glare caused by sunlight reflecting on the water. The brand also offers models with hydrophobic treatment.

Which frame for my sunglasses?

Frames play a crucial role in the comfort of your sports sunglasses, and Bollé pays special attention to them. The brand's frames are designed to be lightweight, stable, highly resistant, and provide an optimal head fit. Thanks to the addition of rubber on the nose and inside the temples, the thermogrip technology ensures improved grip in case of sweating. Moreover, most Bollé sunglasses have adjustable nose pads and temples for an ultra-customized fit.

In this regard, the Shifter and Icarus ranges stand out. Shifter sunglasses focus on stability and comfort, ideal for demanding sports. As for Icarus, the emphasis is on lightness, providing a sense of freedom for the most intense performances. It's worth noting that all Bollé frames allow for interchangeable lenses, allowing you to adapt your sunglasses to various conditions.

Finally, the brand has developed a range of "shield" sunglasses, providing a very wide field of vision. These differ from "dual lenses," which are suitable for multisport activities while offering necessary coverage. Designed to offer versatility and optimal protection, they stand out for their streamlined shapes and advanced technological features.

How to engage in sports while wearing glasses?

For athletes who wear prescription glasses, Bollé offers an innovative solution: RX technology. With this technology, prescription sunglass lenses are custom-mounted for an optimal visual experience. With laser-cut inserts integrated directly into the lenses, you get an extra-large field of vision without the need for an additional optical clip.

This technology is available on all Bollé models (except cylindrical ones), including single-lens screens (known as "shields"), such as the Chronoshield, Icarus, or Lightshifter. You also benefit from exceptional optical precision with Bollé's Phantom (photochromic) or VOLT+ high contrast enhanced colour (high-contrast and polarized) lens treatment technologies, all combined with unparalleled comfort thanks to adjustable nose pads and temples, as well as oleo and hydrophobic treatment.
