“I believe that eye protection is extremely important so we require a lens that performs in all light conditions and Bollé lenses certainly do that.

The sunglasses themselves are lightweight, comfortable and fit really well.”

Ian Williams, GAC Pindar Skipper

In Ian’s first full year on the World Match Racing Tour (“WMRT” 05/06 season) he finished in 2nd place overall and in October 2006 he won his first WMRT event, the Bermuda Gold Cup. Further success followed by winning the 2007 and 2008 World Match Racing Tours, making Ian, at that time, one of only 5 skippers to hold multiple match racing World Titles and the first European to do so.

Ian claimed his 3rd World Match Racing Championship title in 2011 with his Team GAC Pindar before following up in 2012 with a record-equalling 4th. By winning the World Tour again in 2014, Ian became the only person to win 5 World Championship Titles, before extending the record to 6 on the 2015 Tour. A change in ownership of the World Match Racing Tour for 2016 led to the Tour shifting to the M32 catamaran, but Ian showed his adaptability by winning the first-ever WMRT catamaran event in Perth.

Ian is a 3- time nominee for the ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Award, and he is also a 3-time nominee for the UK’s YJA Yachtsman of the Year award.

Ian’s ambition is to ,one day, win the America’s Cup and bring it back to British waters.
